BATB102_How words can change your life
Scientists believe that 95% of our emotions are determined by the way we talk to ourselves throughout the day đ€
When Beauty and the Boutique was just a distant dream, I spent many years telling myself that I wasn't intelligent enough to run a business, because back then I associated intelligence with academia đ
Being dyslexic, I felt I didnât live up to my own internal expectations.
But, now I understand and appreciate that intelligence can be measured in so many different ways. I have come to see my dyslexia as a positive â it allows me to think differently and âout of the boxâ! đĄđ
We all talk to ourselves in an internal monologue â sometimes without even noticing it! Often, our âself-talkâ can be negative, harsh, destructive and plain unkind đ
Putting ourselves down internally and listening to our inner critic creates barriers to achieving happy, fulfilled lives, possibly with missed opportunities and more stress! đ«
Negative self-talk (wherever it stems from) can lead to fear, anxiety and depression.
By replacing the words...
âneed, have, should, would, couldâ
with the words...
âI amâ, âI canâ and âI will'!
...can actually change your attitude towards what it is you have planned, especially if itâs something you arenât feeling that confident about! đ
By consciously rephrasing how you talk to yourself, eventually, your mind will follow these positive messages! đ„°
Self-positivity is like a muscle; the more you use it, the easier gets! đȘ
But on the days when you find it challenging, and the negative self-talk starts creeping in, simply ask yourself â would I say this to a friend?
Believe in yourself the same way you do with your best friends! Whatever encouraging words youâd say to them...Â
...say to yourself! đ
Another thing scientists have proven is that smiling releases serotonin â a neurotransmitter that produces feelings of happiness and wellbeing đâš
So, smiling makes you feel happy, and when weâre happy weâre much more likely to speak positively to ourselves! đ„°
When we think positive thoughts about ourselves daily, our confidence and self-worth will grow!
And, when we feel weâre being significantly negative, even when we donât feel like smiling, a forced smile will have the exact same benefits to the chemicals in our brains! đ
So, go on, get up, brush yourself off and get ready to move some mountains today!
I know you can do it â just take it one word at a time đ
